26th International Danube Shipping and Tourism Conference in Melk was a complete success!
From 27.-30.11. the 26th Danube Shipping and Tourism Conference took place in Melk. Around 230 participants from all over Europe took part. Under the motto "Times of Change", many topics were discussed that affect the cruise industry today and in the future (personnel issues, cybercrime, sustainability, new charming destinations for shore excursions, etc.). The excellent conference organization was made by Donau Niederösterreich, the Melk Abbey offered a venerable ambience for the conference participants and the city of Melk with its many small bars and shops and the Christmas market provided the necessary atmosphere afterwards!
DonauStationen sponsered the gala evening on November 29th in the Kunstmeile Krems. In the modern building amidst the contemporary artworks, a great dinner was served by Harry's Catering, accompanied by all the wines from Winzer Krems. DJ Al Gore provides suitable music. The guests were extremely happy and relaxed. The evening passed far too quickly, it was a complete success! Find the photos at:

Mag. Birgit Brandner Wallner was one of the first of 8 conference participants in Linz 26 years ago and has been to every conference since then. In the meantime, the conference has grown to 230 participants due to the great interest! Prof. Gerhard Skoff, the founder and captain of the Danube Conference, distributed the steering wheel to the two federal states of Lower and Upper Austria, represented by Mag. Dr. Bernhard Schroeder and Petra Riffert. In the future, they will organize this industry get-together, which is uniform throughout Europe. We say THANK YOU to Gerhard Skoff, who has managed this conference over the years with so much passion and lifeblood, has built many bridges between the people in the Danube countries and has given us an invaluable platform for the future!
