Recently the area on land at the Danube Station in Melk has been redesigned. Contemporary benches made of concrete invite guests to linger, new trash can and restored steel parts make the place clean and welcoming. The Auweg was redeveloped, Kai is now illuminated. In addition, sculptures of the artist Heinz Knapp were installed. At the lift bridge an overhead sign saying "Welcome to the World Heritage Site Melk" welcomes the River Cruise Guests. In the coming weeks, a control system will be installed to show the ship's guests the way to the city. The initiative of council Gerhard Schuberth was supported by the Danube stations Gmbh, Viking Cruises and Zwölfer Reisen.
