Local area
According to the Nibelungen song, Pöchlarn was home of the legendary 'Markgrafen Rüdiger von Bechelaren'. Opposite the memorial is the house in which Oskar Kokoschka was born; perhaps the most important artist of the 20th century. The newly designed Oskar Kokoschka documentation centre presents this famous son of Pöchlarn.
