This Danube station is situated on the wonderfully calm old arm of the river in Wallsee, where Schloss Wallsee Palace is still resided in by members of the Habsburg family. It houses a Roman museum as there was a Roman fort here 2000 years ago. In Wallsee there are also numerous sandstone cellars, a quaint marketplace with a fountain and several cosy inns and rustic taverns. Mass tourism is not an issue here, so the locals are always very pleased to welcome guests from abroad.
